I am not too concerned by the possible impacts like a rise in sea level or adverse effects to human health; since I am 29 years old it is unlikely to effect me during my lifetime. I’m more concerned that global cooling will occur due to a massive volcanic eruption. Take the world’s largest caldera which makes up Yellowstone National Park. If it erupts again it could kick off another ice age or even destroy the earth forever. Or maybe there will be major volcanic eruptions, like Mt. Pinatubo in 1991, more frequently that will help balance the earth’s heat budget by, injecting sub microscopic particles into the stratosphere†¦ which can act to cool the earth’s surface by scattering and absorbing solar radiation. According to the discovery channel the frequency of volcanic eruptions is increasing. This is just another reason I don’t get all worked up about the global warming issue. Climate models are important to us, clearly they are not perfectly accurate but we need to keep trying. The evidence suggests that computer models are getting better as computers operate faster and as feedbacks are better understood. I think that in the future predictions will get better but they will still be predictions which can have unpredicted outcomes. I think that impact studies are good to an extent. They are still predictions and it is important that people who use them to make decisions regarding the affects of climate change on humans and ecosystems understand that impact studies are not necessarily fact. Any decisions to act, not to act, spend or not to spend based on climate models and impact studies should be done very carefully. I think the U. S. government should force corporations that are known to be responsible for releasing greenhouse gas emissions to reduce them. However, I think it will be difficult to do without any reliable data to prove that the greenhouse effect is the cause of global warming. Corporations will inevitably resist the proposed costs necessary to reduce emissions which may lead to costly legal battles. Without rock solid proof it will be nearly impossible to change the status quo. This is another reason why continued research with climate models must continue. When a reliable enough model is available then and only then can corporations be forced to act. The auto industry is making steps to produce cars with reduced emissions and that use alternative fuels. Unfortunately most individual consumers seem to want the big gas guzzling SUV?s. But research is being done that may lay the groundwork for laws that require new vehicles to have much lower greenhouse emissions. I am not willing to do a single thing to help reduce greenhouse gasses. I race my car and I hate the fact that I have to get emission testing done to my vehicle every couple of years. Race cars that are not street legal are exempt from many of the regulations regarding emissions. However, my street car is also my race car at track events on weekends. There are ways to get around the emission and catalytic converter issue, which I do and have done for the past 13 years. I remove the catalytic converter and emissions equipment which increases horsepower and torque; which every race car driver wants. But when I get the notice in the mail to get the car emission tested I put the stock emissions equipment back on. It is a cost that I have learned to accept but I still don’t like it. When my personal liberties are limited by the government I usually do not appreciate it, especially regarding my love for the internal combustion engine and my drive to make it faster, no matter how much fuel I burn. But there is another prong to my beliefs about global warming and greenhouse emissions. For the past 5 years I’ve spent six months out of the year on a fishing boat in the NE Atlantic. I don?t want to see fish populations decrease or move somewhere else because the oceans rising temperature. But in the last 5 years I have fished I have seen the fish populations increase. I believe that the fishing regulations are responsible for that. I feel that I don’t want bad things to happen to wildlife because of global warming. On the other hand I may be contributing to global warming with my blatant disregard for governmental regulations regarding emissions testing; very strange. But the truth is that I’m not convinced that the earth’s surface will continue to warm indefinitely, if we as humans don?t change our ways. I will be a follower and an individual on the issue of global warming. I don’t ridicule any body seriously for their opinions or stance regarding the environment. I just hope that decisions that will cost people money are made wisely.

These circumstances led to the creation of one of the most famous prisons in the nation. Prison Ships   Before a permanent prison facility was erected in California, convicts were housed on prison ships. The use of prison ships as a means to hold those guilty of crimes was not new to the penitentiary system. The British held many patriots on prison ships during the American Revolution. Even years after numerous permanent facilities existed, this practice continued in a more tragic fashion during World War II. The Japanese transported a number of  prisoners in merchant vessels that were, unfortunately, the targets of many allied naval ships. When I was exiting Yellowstone National Park, the park ranger at the post asked me what I was doing in Jackson Hole. I explained to him that I was there for the Annual Domestic Violence Conference and he said to me â€Å"We have that problem here?† I told him, â€Å"That problem is everywhere and actually one in three women will face abuse in one way or another in their lifetime.† I had just learned all of this information from attending this event. I started my role as a Victim Advocate only four days previous to this day. I was not aware of the complete picture of domestic violence but I could relate this phenomena in being part of this statistic. Frankly, I was not expecting much from Himalayan-Tibetian art. Nevertheless, when I saw Guhyasmaja Akshobhyavjra with Consort and Shri Devi, I completely changed my opinion and perspective. There was no doubt that I would choose these paintings for my homework assignment. In order to understand them, one needs to know a little bit about Tibetan culture which emerged from different Buddhist practices, namely Mahayana Buddhism and Vajrayana. They both utilize different techniques that fuse a variety of visualizations during meditation; therefore, most of Tibetan art may be seen as aids to these visualizations. Tantric dieties also play a key role in the esoteric religious practices in the Himalayas. These deities personify many human qualities and may appear either peaceful or wrathful. Undoubtedly, the influence of these tantric deities is clearly shown on my paintings Guhyasmaja Akshobhyavjra with Consort and Shri Devi. The composition of these Tibetan paintings is very extraordinary and differs from what most of us expects to see in the work of art due to strong religious components and references incorporated in the creation of these paintings. One may notice the rigid hierarchy among the figures that ultimately affects the whole composition. In Buddhism, there are various gods and goddesses who can be divided into several categories depending on their main purposes, like the protectors and the wisdom kings. On the paintings one may find some very fearsome deities aiming to scare away demons and evil spirits. For example, in Shri Devi Dorje Rabtenma, the central deity is a human-like creature that rides a horse and swings his sword. It is surrounded by dozens of other figures. On the very top, one can see Buddhists devotees who pray with their heads titled forward. On the bottom and the sides, there are diffident kinds of demons hiding in the bushes or reaching out their hands to the central deity. On the other hand, in Guhyasmaja Akshobhyavjra with Consort, the central deity is not frightening; it is rather peaceful in appearance and resembles a Hindu god, Vishnu. Just like that of the first panning, the composition of Guhyasmaja Akshobhyavjra with Consort is filed with the main, central deity and then many other secondary figures on different sides of the painting. By the color palette, one may easily identify the origins of these paintings. It is very vibrant and colorful. The materials (Ground Mineral Pigment on Cotton) used are also very common for that region at the time. The skin of the deities both fearsome and peaceful is colored in black which presumably emphasizes their importance in the eyes of the viewer, and one can tell right away what figure(s) he or she sees on the paintings. It is worth mentioning that secondary figures are often (not always) colored differently. They might have different skin tones and colors from yellow to blue. They are absolutely magical and mysterious creatures, primarily demons and evil spirits, which may take a great variety of forms and shapes, and their appearance is only limited by the imagination of the artist. Additionally, the painting are ornamented with floral patterns all over the place. The artists attempted to fill in the blank space in order to create an illusion of the unified scenes; although, the secondary figures do not seem to interact with each other much on both paintings. For a not Himalayan-born person, these paintings may seem a little bit too hard to fully understand. At first glance, one notices the huge difference between European and Asian art. From studies, it can be noted that the human population exploit more than 400 species of marine lives for the purpose of food. With respect to this particular aspect, it can be also highlighted that along with fishing, ghost fishing, tropic cascading effects and food we competition are also harming the stock population of the Plaice species (Gibson et al. 2014). The primary focus of this particular study is to measure and assesses all the biological parameters of plaice population present at the regions of Eastern-Anglesey and North-West Wales coastal water regions on growth, mortality and maturity. With respect to the ongoing studies, it can be said that a detailed data will provide important information in terms of fisheries science. The obtained result will provide information regarding the current amount of stock, which will help to design effective and efficient management strategies for the purpose of sustainable fishing (Pauly et al. 2013). Moreover, the study will outline the specifications of European Plaice that will be analysed from 2006-2015 to generate the effectiveness of current situation for implementing useful strategies. Materials and Methods Sample Collection The given samples were collected from the surveys on floorboard namely RV Prince Mandog, the known research pot in Bangor University for the School of Ocean Sciences. The surveys were carried from the year 2006 to 2015 for 10 years, with two supplementary search taking place in December of 2010 and 2011. The data sites included were same as included earlier. They were namely Conwy Bay and Red Wharf Bay, the inshore sites and Colwyn Bay and Point Lynas, the offshore sites. The outer search was taken with the help of mesh size of 76mm. The check lasted for a middling 57 minutes. The sorting of catch was done with the measurement of each fish to the nearest value of mm and then prearranged into strata of length subclass. The subclass limited to 1cm size class amongst the first three fishes, which were gradually retained for further analysis and interpretation. Age frequency was determined to 0.5 years according to the plaices under the microscopic examination. Data Analysis Profusion and distribution of frequency The data from each site taken was initially summed to find the total number plaice, and later was divided and alienated by the drag time to discover the per unit catch effort (CPUE). The results are generated using SPSS and Excel results. Mortality The mortality grades were considered using the collective female and male statistics. The equation, M=-LN(0.01)/tmax was used to calculate approximately natural mortality of the plaice. The equation described, Nt=N0e-Zt was calculated for the entire mortality of the stock given by Z. Results Profusion and distribution of frequency A large amount of trawls were assumed between 2006 and 2015, during which 4974 plaice were retained for the subsample, of which 2330 were male and 2519 were female. 50.64% of Plaice trapped were from inshore sites and 49.36% from offshore sites as the location is shown in figure 1. The range of length between female and male were highly variable. The range for female TL varied from 8.5 cm to 51 cm and the range of male TL varied from 6 cm to 37.3 cm is shown table 1. However, the majority female lengths were found amid 27 cm and 33 cm (consisting of 26.67% of the total females trapped), whilst the majority male lengths were found between 18 cm and 23 cm (consisting of 42.31% of the total males trapped). The assortment was from 0 to 8 years in female fishes and in males it appeared to have less years, approximately from 0 to 5 years when compared with female fish. According to the earlier studies, it was shown that males achieve their maturity level in immature age before female plaice and that is primary reason for them to be in shorter in length. However, female and male in this investigation were found to be in accord with the preponderance of mature males between 18-23cm in contrast to mature females, which were between 33 and 38 cm. In addition, males were to gain maturity at 2 years and female at 3 years. The egg production in females necessitates more physical resources than males as stated earlier. For this learning, 50% maturity of length was 37 cm for females, and 30 cm for males. According to growth studies based on plaice, one recent study highlights the population based growth estimates of plaice showing that 0-group plaice is based on otolith analysis and DEB modelling. The maturity and growth are different through years with different patterns of temperature. However, according to study analysed and recent study in 2016 highlights that growth decline does not relates to size of the fish.
